Cookie Policy
Cookies
Users’ personal data may also be collected by means of cookies.
This Cookie Policy contains information about the cookies used on the Web Site.
We recommend periodically verifying the content of this Policy in order to keep up to date.
What are Cookies and What is their Purpose
Cookies are small text strings that websites (known as “publishers” or “first parties”) visited by the user or different websites or web servers (known as “third parties”) place and store – directly, in the case of publishers, and indirectly, i.e. through them, in the case of “third parties” – within a terminal device available to the user. Terminals” include, for example, a computer, a tablet, a smartphone, or any other device capable of storing information.
The software for surfing the Internet and operating these devices, e.g. browsers, can store cookies and then transmit them back to the sites that generated them on the occasion of a subsequent visit by the same user, thus keeping a record of his/her previous interaction with one or more websites.
The information stored in cookies may include personal data, such as an IP address, user name, unique identifier or e-mail address, but may also contain non-personal data, such as language settings or information about the type of device a person is using to browse the site.
Cookies can therefore perform important and diverse functions, including session monitoring, storing information on specific configurations regarding users accessing the server, facilitating the enjoyment of online content, etc. They can, for instance, be used to keep track of the items in an online shopping cart or the information used to fill in a computer form.
Classification of cookies
Cookies can be classified according to the site that generates them, their duration and their purpose.
- classification depending on the site that generates them:
- first-party cookies – these are generated by the website you are visiting;
- third-party cookies – are generated by websites other than the one you are visiting. When you visit the page of a site, in fact, it is possible to access further content through links to external sites such as, for example, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Vimeo, Flickr, etc. These sites may in turn generate cookies. In this case, users can access the privacy and cookie policies of such third parties in order to obtain information on the type and operation of the relevant cookies.
2. classification according to duration
- temporary (or session) cookies: they do not have an expiry date, and are deleted as soon as the browsing session ends or the browser is closed;
- persistent cookies: they have an expiry date and remain on the terminal even when the browsing session is over, or after the browser is closed. They can be read by the site that created them on subsequent visits to it.
3. classification according to purpose:
- technical cookies (they serve to make navigation easier, ensure the correct or easier use of the site being visited, or provide a service requested by the user. These cookies do not provide the site with any personal information);
- analytics cookies (these cookies can be assimilated to technical cookies where they are installed to collect information in an anonymous and aggregate form, on the number of users and how they visit the site. These cookies make it possible to develop statistics on the service offered and its use);
- profiling cookies (their purpose is to monitor and profile users during navigation and they are used, for example, to study users’ movements, their web consultation or consumption habits, also in order to send advertising messages in line with the preferences expressed during navigation).
What kind of cookies does the Web Site use
The Web Site uses first-party technical cookies. These cookies are necessary for the correct operation of the Web Site, to enable the user browsing in a quick and agile manner and to display each web page correctly. The installation of these cookies is necessary for navigation purposes and does not require the user’s consent.
How to disable cookies and how to manage your preferences
Most browsers are initially set to accept cookies automatically. In any case, the user has the possibility, at any time, to set his browser to accept all cookies, only some, or to refuse them, disabling their use by the Internet websites. The user can also normally set his or her browser preferences so that he or she is notified each time a cookie is stored in the memory of his or her terminal.
At the end of each browsing session, the user can delete the cookies collected from his hard disk.
If you wish to delete the cookies installed in the cookies folder of the browser you are using, remember that each browser has different procedures for managing the settings.
